I would like to suggest that there should be a tag in front of each of the Board categories saying "New Posts" or something of that sort. That way you don't need to go into each Category to see if there is anything new in there.

I'm not sure if you already know this, but there's a way you can go right to the newest topics. Once you click the link to get to the boards, there's a Jump To combo box, and it gives you some choices about what posts you want to see (Topics With New Posts, Latest Topics, Most Popular Topics, stuff like that). Hope that helps.
I still like his idea though.
Yeh i saw the Jump To List and I had tried it out too. The thing about that is that it lists New Topics from every single Board Category. the list is a bit long and then you might miss or not find the Category or Board Topic that you were looking for...

I don't necessarily dislike the idea; I just don't see the point. In the present format, I can scan a page of new topic posts in around fifteen seconds. If something catches my attention, I access the 'last post' column for that topic. it is also possible to jump to a particular category and view posts in the same manner; the sorting order is by newest post, so you can quickly determine what's new and what isn't.
I'd be all for the idea if it were implimented as a toggle.
Likewise I don't see the point, especially if the other suggestion made by many were implemented that you only see the catagories that you would want too. I always scan the topics with new post, and rarely find much worth reading.
Also, you can jump by anchor if you use a screen reader to go down the new topics link. And the last post time is in the list of categories, I believe.
